Several weeks ago bldg. 7 had new doors put in to our garbage disposal chutes. At first they were a little hard to open but got easier when the maintenance oiled the handles. The one on the 3rd floor has become impossible to open and has been fixed twice to my knowledge and once again we cannot open this door with normal human strength. There have been several complaints left on voice mails to the office but now the garbage is piling up in the halls.

"This" community actually consists of five sub-communities, each with similar -- but slightly different -- governing documents. Do not trust anything that you may receive by email as a result of this inquiry. It might be for the wrong Association. Even if from the correct Association, it might be an outdated version.

Some of the basic restrictions are:
1) You must be 55 years of age or older;
2) You yourself must live here; you cannot permit others to live in your apartment in your absence.
3) No pets.

Again, the above may vary depending upon which sub-community you buy into. Check with the person from whom you intend to buy or from a KNOWLEDGEABLE real estate agent.

The rat infestation seems to be getting worse. While I believe the condo management has responded adequately to my complaints (they sent someone to my unit the very same day, to plug all holes to the common wall, etc.), dealing with this problem one unit at a time has become a dangerous game of wackamole. More and more apartments are reporting seeing rats. And now, I am hearing that some people have placed their units on the market, and more are planning on leaving due to this problem. I am extremely depressed about this.

I had planned on making more renovations to my apartment, and now I don't know if I should, or try to sell, or if I wait too long, will I have to abandon the unit eventually? Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a forum in which this issue can be discussed by the owners. I think we should consult a highly professional exterminator who specializes in this kind of infestation. Putting down glue traps here and there is not going to solve it.

I have contacted the Margate City Commission to see if they were willing to help us. They contend that it's the condo's responsibility unless the root of the problem is a public space. My answer to that is, yes -- the root of the problem is the canal that runs in back of the condo buildings. Still, it is up to us to prove it. Is it possible to hire a lawyer to make this case to the city, county and state? Is the condo covered for such an expense by insurance? These are the kinds of questions that we should be asking if there was a meeting about this.

I had attended the Men's Club Mother's day Luncheon for the the first time since I ha always taken my Mother out for dinner. I was pleasantly surprised how well done the entire luncheon was. The food was good, especially the brisket, and, the quantity was plentiful.
The tables were set up beautifully. Ted, Efrain, Mike and others served the food and did a better job than the caterers!
I compliment Ted Garber who works so hard to please everyone no matter what he does. He always does a great job along with Efrain and other members.
Thank you for an enjoyable couple of hours.
I hope that others would consider participating next year!
